Moving to Wordpress

Blogger has had one to many outages for me this past week, so I'm going on and moving to WordPress.

The new version still has a few visual glitches (mostly css problems - I'm still learning!) but all the old posts have carried over.

Happy reading!

Goals for the week

Goals for the week :

Sunday - finish polish on first chapter of Warrior's Mate; write cover letter for The Knight Agency

Monday - send first chapter and cover letter to TKA; Hit 10,000 words on Warrior's Mate

Tuesday - Hit 11,000 words on Warrior's Mate

Wednesday - Hit 12,000 words on Warrior's Mate

Thursday - reread and print out so it can be laying around in case Sis has a few minutes to read this weekend

There will probably be no writing after Thursday; I begin WOFATTAS - my Weekend of Fun at the Theatre and Such. Sis will be here from Friday until Monday; Tuesday is Brainy Boy's birthday, and we've promised him much fun. Wednesday will be May 31 - I'll have new goals then. And hopefully a clear direction of that still murky project I want to have ready to pitch to Nocturne in Atlanta.

What are your goals for the week?

Days of no-time

212 words this morning in 20 minutes. Ugh.

Going to resort to the Cinderella card (I feel like such a bad mom when I do that) after dinner and see if I can get to 1000 before my brain melts into a puddle of "I've been up 16 hours" goo.

American Title III

I really hoped to get something done by June 1 for the American Title III contest, but it's looking like it's not going to happen. Hubby dumped a new project on me - write the media guide for the Jacksonville Bobcats. By the end of May. By myself. Print ready, in pdf. The writing by itself wouldn't be so bad (it's only 50 pages, most of which will be player and coach/staff bio's) - but I get to do the print layout too. Ouch. Graphic design on that scale is not my usual thing.

So I'm going to just focus on the story for Nocturne, and getting it ready to pitch in July.

Yes, my goals are always shifting ;) But better to have shifting goals, than to have no goals at all!

BOS Results

Final scoring from the Romance Diva's "Best First Meeting" contest were released yesterday. Here's the final results -
The Lord Helps Those... Keziah - 50/50
Tonight, Forever Ember 48/50
The Rebound Guy JAC 47/50

I read Keziah's story during the first round, so I agree with the judge - it was an awesome story! Gratz to her.

My second place finish was a lot easier to swallow when I read the very detailed comments (Thanks to Diana DeBalko of Siren Publishing for being so thorough). Had my first taste of honesty judging - and by the end, there were so many little mistakes (comma missuse the big one) that I was thinking, how did I finish second?? Going to have to sit down and go through the entry this week and fix those problems but - I hate comma usage rules!

Today was my first morning of getting up at 5:30. To write, you know. Except instead of writing I read over my scoring comments, and now I'm blogging. Bad writer.
